I only had this happen after I quit driving 6K miles/month and started going more than 2.5-3 months between tune ups. Last time I pulled the plug wires (a year after the previous tune up), I had the wire come out of the crimped terminal on 2 or 3 plugs. Upon examining the wires, it appeared the factory crimp was a sub-standard job, and I just re-crimped them w/ a regular wire crimping tool. Now, after 2 subsequent tune ups, I haven't had that problem since. Dave R. The guy who welded the panels on the truck also commented that he had a hard time wlding thm on because of the fact that they were so much thicker than the original sheet metal. So far I've been very happy, though. - ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Daniel H. Subject: FTE 61-79 - 73 F250....convert to 4 bbl..? Piece of cake especialy with the engine torn apart already. All you need is a 4BBl intake off of any FE and a 4 BBl. carb. I'm running a 67 T-Bird intake and a Carter AFB.The carb linkage can be a little tricky but nothing serious.I'm sure 4BBls were available on 390s in 4x2 trucks in 76 and probably earlier.A guy is advertising a 428CJ intake for $75 in my local(Reno) paper so I don't think you will have much of a investment in you very worthwhile project. == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ End of 61-79-list-digest V2 #468 ******************************** ....
