Well as most of you know by my byline, I own a 73 F-250 Ranger Xlt Camper Special. Well I now have a 74 F-350 Ranger XLT Super Camper Special. It all started yesterday with one of our work trucks. My brother was driving the 73 F-350 tank truck when, while rolling to a stop, the rear axel split right through the pumpkin. And were talkin Dana 70 here folks! Well after towing it to the shop, we decided we needed to find an axle REAL quick. A search through the paper revealed a 74 F-350 with fuel problems for 1000 dollars. We went over to see it and low and behold, Its a 74 F-350 Ranger XLT Super Camper Special, with p/s, p/b, a/c a factory 460/auto, and this beautiful truck(one dent on the passenger side of the bed) only has 79,000 miles on it. We've already know what the problem is, and plan on driving that thing home today. After dad takes the axle out to fix the tank truck, I'm gonna though the 60 from my truck underneath it, and away I go. Only hard part is gonna be welding on th new spring perches as the 250 and 350 have different frame widths. As for my 250, Were gonna take the parts we need, and sell the rest.As soon as I'm done I'll post what I have for sale, as it is all Rust Free desert truck. Try to remember this IS a family oriented web site. We don't want the women who enjoy this site feeling alienated, and we don't want our kids telling jokes like that, okay? - -- Don Neighbors '54 F250 Named Grover "Any dropped tool or part will automatically fall into the most innaccesible part of the vehicle." grover == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 19 Sep 1998 10:12:20 -0400 (EDT) From: Tony Marino Subject: Re: FTE 61-79 - Bizzare turn of events.y Quick question for you guys- I noticed most of you saying that if I want to put a 460 in a 78 truck that use to have a 351m in it, I needed special motor mounts from L&L for about a hundred bucks- Are the stancions different on this truck you are talking about (the '74CS) or could I just go to the local autoparts and ask for the mounts from a '74 460 and drop them in my '78 to save a couple bucks? Thanks Tony tony www.pscico.com/~tony > dollars. I was wondering if anyone can tell me what each package offered? or just one.. Can anyone recommend an insurance company for coverage on my '66 4x4? It is an on-going restoration project, mostly stock, seldom driven, garage kept. My regular insurance co doesn't like "antiques" and charges an arm & a leg for regular insurance! == FTE: Uns*bscribe and posting info www.ford-trucks.com/faq.html ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 20 Sep 1998 03:19:12 -0500 From: "Brian Forbes" Subject: FTE 61-79 - Crate Motors!
